Love your enemies, for they tell you your faults.

Benjamin Franklin (U.S. Founding Father, diplomat, inventor, 1706-1790)

“That’s it, I’m fed up!”

... erm, what I mean is, a couple weeks ago I got tired of being overweight for so long. Technically, according to my numbers, I’m in obese category 1 (the lowest category) and needed to lose about 15 pounds to get down to just “overweight”

😩

I decided enough was enough.

I’d rather do a pretty intense diet plan for a short season and just get the weight loss done than waddle along with the up & down plans I’d been doing.

So I picked one out that had given me good results before, decided to stick to it for however long it took to hit my goal (rather than just the 8 weeks it was last time), and just endure it.

My plan?

Basically, six days of only meat & green veggies, a lot of water, Coke Zero, and walking every day (plus three workouts per week).

No carbs, no sugar, no fruit.

One day a week I eat whatever I want (i.e., Refeed Day).

The results so far have been great. I’m a bit low energy (duh, I’m in a caloric deficit) but overall I’m seeing the scale drop like a Chevy rock.

Sometimes anger & frustration is the best motivator.

I don’t have some fancy transition to a trading lesson, so consider this a life lesson in general.

Why it matters …

From the article…

“Markets are setting aside the US government shutdown, which looks set to drag on at least until the end of the week. The Senate will be out Thursday in observance of Yom Kippur, making Friday the next chance to hold a vote on funding, after it rejected Republican and Democratic bills on Wednesday to trigger the stoppage.”

From the market’s perspective, the shutdown is a non-event as we set new highs yesterday. I believe “Wolf!” has been cried at least one too many times. Hopefully, something good can come out of the shutdown, like a re-examining of what the Federal government actually needs to do to support the preamble in the Constitution, but I’m not saying anything … just say’n!
